Your wagon train has arrived at the Whitman Mission. This stop is actually located in Washington, just north of Oregon. This is a popular stop for passing emigrants because there is a blacksmith and medical care. Your wagon train will spend one day at this stop and head out on the trail again tomorrow morning.
Today in class we will be watching a video about the Oregon Trail. While watching, take some notes on the significant things you learn about the trail.
Make a blog post titled Oregon Trail Video. Question: Why did people want to move to Oregon? What historic sites were along the trail? What hazards, dangers, and hardships did the emigrants experience during their travels? Were many people successful making it to Oregon?
